I love when people ask "how long have you been designing denim?"! Because the answer is ALL MY LIFE. My earliest memory is from East Orange NJ where we were planning a family trip to the park where my brother and cousin both had on denim shorts and a t-shirt. I looked down at my frilly dress, matching ruffle socks, shiny mary-janes and was immediately upset. I refused to leave the house without changing into some denim. I was three years old, that was the last day my mother ever dressed me. In fact, seven years later, it was very common for her to find me on my bedroom floor drawing, painting, cutting up and sewing my newest pair of jeans back together. My middle name is literally Jean. I create with denim because it is my favorite medium, it never goes out of style and it's such a universal piece of history. I look forward to creating a piece of your future!
